Jeanne Snyder’s Recipes

Jeanne Snyder wowed us on July 27 with her talk about plant-based cuisine and, especially, with her culinary creations. Here is a summary of her presentation. As promised, the summary includes recipes for three dishes: garlic lemon aioli, served with steamed artichoke leaves; salted pecan-chocolate-caramel fudge tart; and simple pecan maple ice cream. SHARP announces four $1,000 grants

The SHARP Executive Board has chosen the recipients of four $1,000 grants for the first half of 2015: the Golden Gate Philharmonic youth orchestra, the Jefferson School PTA, the Oakes Children Center, and Sutro Stewards. Four more such grants will be awarded in the second half of the year. For more information, see the grants page.

A victory for Golden Gate Heights Park
June 17, 2015
In the “participatory budgeting” election in 2015 for Supervisorial District 7, eight of 48 proposed projects won enough votes to be selected for funding. One of the winners was the proposal to fund a new community bulletin board and a children’s nature play area in Golden Gate Heights Park. Stay tuned for further updates.

Jonathan and Hannah Chu on piano and violin

Sunday, June 14, 4 p.m., at Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 201 Eucalyptus (near 19th Avenue): two supremely talented kids, Jonathan Chu (16) and his sister, Hannah (12), perform on violin and piano with collaborative pianist Dmitriy Colgan. Jonathan wowed a full house at SHARP in March.

Walking tour of Mt. Sutro with Craig Dawson

Craig Dawson is the Executive Director of Sutro Stewards and the guiding force behind the trail restoration and other inspiring volunteer efforts at Mt. Sutro.
