Inner Sunset Block Party Brings Neighbors Together

What a wonderful day in the Inner Sunset! Last weekend’s block party brought neighbors together under sunny, pleasant skies (unusual for Fogust!) for an afternoon filled with good food, live music, laughter, and community spirit.

Neighbors chatted and caught up while enjoying classic hot dogs and
hamburgers and listening to live performances from four talented local bands. There was plenty for kids to enjoy, too, with face painting, LEGOs, arts and crafts, and lots of games to keep young attendees busy.

A special highlight came when the San Francisco Fire Department
arrived with a truck and crew earlier in the afternoon. The appearance was a huge hit with everyone, especially the kids!

From music and food to games and friendly conversations, the block party was a wonderful celebration of togetherness. It was a great day of connecting with neighbors, welcoming families, and building the sense of community that makes the Inner Sunset such a special place.

 

Knitting Hour

An afternoon of stitches, stories, and good company

We have now held two successful knitting sessions! They are a great deal of fun as well as a chance to meet your neighbors.

SHARP is sponsoring a knitting hour every Wednesday in July, same time, same station.  The next event is:

3:00–4:00 PM

At the S.H.A.R.P. Community Room
1736 9th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94122

We’ll have beginner supplies on hand and a teacher ready to help with knitting — just bring yourself and a willingness to learn. You can also bring your crocheting, needlepoint or other fabrics, though we won’t have a teacher for those.

Novices & experts alike are welcome!
