S.H.A.R.P. begins ZOOM meetings

With the advent of the CoVid-19 virus, SHARP has had to suspend live meetings at our 9th Ave. meeting room. We have began to use ZOOM to do our meetings. Our first ZOOM meeting was on June 22, and more are scheduled. Watch this site for information, or sign up for our e-mailing list.

SHARP donates $52,800
January 1, 2018
SHARP is donating a total of $52,800 to charitable organizations for the last half of 2017. The amount nearly doubles the $29,000 SHARP had contributed to charitable organizations since 2013. The new money is going to 17 organizations, most of which SHARP has supported before.

Hurricane Harvey devastated the family of Nelda Williams, a neighborhood resident and great friend of SHARP. Nelda’s 92-year-old mom, Betty, was one of three family members who lost their home. Please join us in helping.

Sandra Meyer

Sandra Meyer, a long-time SHARP member and supporter, died on August 3, 2017. We send our condolences to husband Burt (a former SHARP Board member) and to the rest of the Meyer family.

SF Civil Grand Jury Report on Parks

SHARP Board member Charles Head served as secretary on the Civil Grand Jury panel that recently issued a report on the city’s parks.

Harold Gilliam

Harold Gilliam died on December 14, 2016, at age 98. He was a groundbreaking environmental journalist, accomplished author, dedicated naturalist, gracious man, and faithful member of SHARP. With his reporting and columns, he as much as anyone created environmental journalism in the Bay Area.
