Our first speaker was Mr. Daniel Homsey informing the group about Resilient Inner Sunset. This is a program sponsored by the City to prepare for disasters. Mr. Homsey told us that our need to be resilient may com into play for things that we may not consider, like a major power outage or a heat wave.  We were encouraged to meet with our neighbors and plan ahead. Things like block parties could help us to know our neighbors and be aware of people that may not be in a position to help themselves in case of a problem.

Our second speaker was Noelle Duong from Recology. Ms. Duong gave us an overview of the things that Recology is doing to recycle as much of our throw away materials and how we could help by properly sorting our trash, recyclables, or compostable items.
