The San Francisco Fire Department gave a presentation at the October SHARP meeting. Inspector Tomie Ann Kato and inspector Darrell Stone gave the members present a 90 minute presentation on home fire safety. The presentation started with a PowerPoint presentation which covered planning your escape in case of fire, smoke detectors, a video showing how quickly a fire can get going and spread in a room, safety in cooking, electrical fires, carbon monoxide dangers, sizes and types of fire extinguishers, and how to choose one for home. The presentation ended with a hands-on demonstration using a fire and fire extinguisher demonstration…don’t worry, it was all electronic!
