Meet three SHARP grant winners at our July Meeting

Monday, July 30, 2018

The July 30 2018 SHARP meeting featured three speakers from organizations that received grants from SHARP earlier this year.

Alice Xavier from the 16th Ave. Tiled Steps Project told about how the idea came about and grew with help from neighbors and the community. The project expanded from just the steps to the garden surrounding the steps.

Amber Hasselbring of Nature in the City told about the various projects they are involved with including the butterfly pathway that passes over our neighborhood. The SHARP Grant enabled them to print more of their Nature maps of San Francisco, which is available on their web site.

Carrie Cotter from Project Night Night told about how the small project expanded to the whole country. The group provides “gift bags” to homeless children, including toy, stuffed animals, books and blankets to help them deal with their life issues. The SHARP grant has already allowed them to provide gift bags to children in three Different shelters in SF.
