Monday, June 29, 2020

On June 29 SHARP held their second ZOOM meeting. Our guest was Cathy De Luca from the Community Living Campaign. Cathy covered a host of subject matter related to transportation in San Francisco in the age of CoVid-19. Right now the SF MUNI is running on a limited schedule and getting around can be difficult.

The CLC web site has up to date information on MUNI at: https://sfcommunityliving.org/transportation/ .   You can also contact MUNI via 311.Cathy also gives a monthly talk on the issue along with a number of other subjects at: https://sfcommunityliving.org/events

We learned that Seniors and those disabled can get an “essential trip card” which gives a significant discounts for taxi rides. Call 311 for information. Yu can also get a $50 certificate fro LYFT from CYC if you are disabled … sfcommunityliving.org web site

Another alternative is SilverRide.com. The driver will pick you up and bring you to your location and assist you. It is a premium service and does cost somewhat more.

Our second guest, Natasha Opfell gave information on SF Paratransit who can get you around town if you are a senior or disabled for $2/50. Call 415 351-7000 for service.

If you need assistance with essential trips for groceries, medical appointments, etc. you can contact shop-a-round and sign up for this service
