On January25 over 40 people tuned in to our Zoom meeting with Assemblyman Phil Ting, and later a presentation by Reuel Daniels who told the participants about the long term plan for Stonestown.
Assemblyman Ting told us that it was a tough year due to the unexpected advent of the CoVid virus early in the year. Among the pressing issues this year are housing, wildfires, reopening schools, the state budget, and transportation and how that relates to climate change.
There were questions about Unemployment insurance payments, plastic recycling,Crime, including Prop 47-57- and20., snd housing cost. One question was about road construction and gas taxes. Asm. Ting said that the current work on 19th Ave. is being funded by state gas taxes. There is more information on the project at: http://sfpublicworks.org/19th-Avenue\\
There were several questions on housing. There is not much is happening on a local level throughout the state. Seems there are lots of complaints, but few suggestions on solutions, so the state will likely step in more in the future.
You can view the entire meeting on the S.H.A.R.P. Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/sharp.sf/videos/437014304163217
Following Assemblyman Ting, Reuel Daniels of Brookfield Properties. went over the long term plan for converting the Stonestown Galeria property into a mixed use development, with shops,
housing and more green spaces. It includes various types of housing, smaller ground level shops and parks with various types of spaces. More information and videos are available on their web site: www.neighborland.com/stonestown
