SHARP announces new charitable grants

The SHARP Executive Board has chosen recipients for $4,000 in grants for the last half of 2014. The grants are $1,000 each to Lava Mae, the Center for Young Women’s Development, the Zen Hospice’s training program for volunteer caregivers, and the Garden for the Environment, on 7th Avenue at Lawton Street. John Barry on backyard cottages

On Wednesday, December 10, SHARP Board member John Barry will narrate a Power Point presentation and lead a discussion on backyard cottages, mini-homes that could help ease the affordable housing crisis in San Francisco—if the city changed its rule prohibiting such structures.
