  • Supervisor Norman Yee: Community Office Hours

    Supervisor Yee will hold office hours at Ambrosia Bakery, 2506 Ocean Avenue (near Junipero Serra Blvd.), on Saturday, October 18, between 10:30 and 11:45 a.m.   No appointment is necessary; first come, first served.  Normally, you get 5-10 minutes with the Supervisor.  For more information, contact his office.   (415) 554-6516.

  • SHARP Board meeting

    SHARP’s Executive Board meets on the second Monday of the month at our meeting space, 1736 Ninth Avenue (btwn Moraga and Noriega), 7 p.m.  All SHARP members are invited to attend, particularly if they have trouble sleeping.

  • September 30 deadline for feedback on MUNI’s planned changes to Irving Street

    SHARP member Daniel Tomasevich reminds us that SFMTA will make changes on Irving Street along the N Judah line next year.   Here are the project boards.  We have until September 30 to comment by filling out the questionnaire.

  • Vern Waight

    Longtime SHARP member Vern Waight died on August 25, 2014, at age 95.  A helpful guy as well as a friendly one, Vern served on our Board for many years as recording secretary and later edited our newsletter.  We will miss him.

  • Election Forum

    September 15, 2014

    SHARP’s Election Forum will include the first joint appearance of the two candidates for BART Board of Directors, District 8: incumbent James Fang and Nick Josefowitz.   We will also hear from school board candidates Emily Murase (incumbent) and Trevor McNeil, and from proponents and opponents of these ballot measures: the $15/hour Minimum Wage (Proposition J), Affordable Housing (Proposition K), Taxing Ellis Act Evictions (Proposition G), and Golden Gate Park Fields/Park Renovation (Propositions H and I).   SHARP ground floor meeting room, 1736 Ninth Avenue, 7 p.m.

    Paid-up SHARP members will be able to purchase tickets to the All San Francisco Concert at Davies Hall for $10 each. Details and order form will come to members by mail. If you are not paid up go to the membership page of the web site and send in your 2014 dues.
